Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Perth County for Wednesday morning through until early Thursday.
Environment Canada is calling for freezing rain with ice accumulation of 2 to 5 mm. Highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy, slippery and hazardous.
Rain will be at times heavy. Total rainfall amounts of 20 to 40 mm are anticipated. Locally higher amounts are possible in thunderstorms.
As temperatures rise above the freezing mark, freezing rain will transition to rain over southwestern Ontario through Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night.
Freezing rain warnings will likely be required. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
