Distracted driving campaign reveals some peculiarities

It’s five days into the OPP’s distracted driving campaign, and officers in Perth County say they’ve been noticing some peculiar things.

Yesterday an officer on patrol spotted four drivers talking on their cell phones.

Three of the people were driving newer model vehicles all equipped with Bluetooth.

The police say these people either chose not to, or did not know how, to use that technology.

All four were given a $155 ticket.

The OPP is reminding you that you are allowed to use hands-free phones while driving, but you’re still encouraged to keep the calls short so you can concentrate on driving.
