The all candidates debate was held this week at the Rotary complex before a large and boisterous crowd. One of the topics of discussion was the future of the cooper site. This week the City of Stratford won another significant court decision regarding the Cooper Block. The Court of Appeal, in a unanimous decision, dismissed a third challenge made by previous owner Lawrence Ryan over the site. The decision means that the issue can now be brought to a final conclusion as a number of claims for damages against the city, made by Ryan, have now been dismissed. Officials say they are now waiting for a decision on the appeal made by Ryan on the awarding of costs in favour of the city.
