Dowler-Karn Limited is marking 75 years of being in business by giving back to the community.
The company, which supplies propane, fuels, and lubricants, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year by partnering with the ESSO Community Program and their Fueling Communities Give-Away to provide a total of $127,500 to various community organizations and projects in the areas where they operate including Stratford and St.Marys.
Originally, the company planned to give away $75 thousand but the amount of requests for funding from different charitable organizations, totaling $1.2 million, led them to increase that amount.
Dowler-Karn Limited Chief Financial Officer Dan Kelly says the company has always felt it’s important to support those who need it.
“We’ve always believed that we need to support the communities in which we operate, our employees live and play and work in these communities and we feel that it’s important to give back, we feel it’s important to be good corporate citizens.”
Both the Stratford Perth Hospice Foundation and Stratford Perth Shelterlink are receiving funding through the donations.
