The Stratford Festival has extended the cancellation of shows through the end of May.
Festival officials say performances are cancelled with rehearsals and season preparations suspended.
They say a number of temporary layoffs have been issued as they wait for further direction from the Canadian government that they can start preparing for the 2020 season.
The festival says they will announce details of the 2020 season when they are able to do so.
