Police: Suspect scammed Listowel financial institution out of $40-thousand

Perth County OPP is investigating after they say a suspect scammed a financial institution out of $40-thousand.

Around 11 o’clock in the morning on May 21st, police say the suspect went to the institution in Listowel, where they provided identification.

The suspect then performed some banking transactions, with a total value of approximately $40,000.

Police say it was later determined that the suspect had stolen a person’s identity, and the transactions were found to be fraudulent.

The male suspect is described as approximately 50 years old, with black and grey hair, and was dressed casually at the time of the offence.

Anyone with information on the suspect is asked to call Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.
