The Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth says she’s “worried that residents have become complacent about protecting themselves and their families” from COVID-19.
It comes as Huron Perth Public Health is reporting two new cases of COVID-19 over the past four days in the region and Dr. Miriam Klassen says they are noticing during contact tracing of those cases that people are identifying more contacts that they have been around.
HPPH says public health measures everyone should be taking include keeping your physical distance from people outside of your household and not sharing food or drinks, wearing a cloth mask if you are not able to physically distance, washing your hands frequently with soap and water and staying home if you are sick.
When HPPH receives a report of a confirmed positive case of COVID-19, public health staff immediately begin to conduct thorough contact tracing related to the case, which is a priority for stopping the spread of COVID-19.
