The unemployment rate in our area saw a slight decrease last month.
The Four County Labour Market Planning Board reports the unemployment rate for the Stratford-Bruce Peninsula area decreased by 1.0 percentage points to 8.6 percent in July.
It says overall net employment in the region increased by 400, with full-time gains offset by part-time losses.
The number of Goods-producing sector employees decreased by net 500 in the region.
The greatest losses were in Construction and Agriculture, which were partly offset by strong gains in Manufacturing.
