Police say drinking and speeding has lead to charges against a young driver from West Perth.
Around 8 o’clock at night on July 28th, Perth County OPP say an officer on patrol observed a vehicle speeding on Line 29 in Perth South.
The officer stopped the vehicle just west of Road 140 and determined the vehicle had been going over 130km/h in a posted 80km/h zone.
During the course of the investigation, the officer determined the driver had been drinking and they were given a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail.
The driver was brought to the OPP detachment for further testing and they have now been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle – Excessive Speed and Operation while Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
