It comes after two people were charged following a traffic stop in Perth East.
A Perth County Ontario Provincial Police officer says they were conducting patrols just after 4:30 in the morning on August 2nd when they stopped a vehicle that was speeding on Road 124.
Upon checking the driver and vehicle documents, the officer determined the driver only had a class G1 license.
A condition of G1 driver’s licences is to be accompanied by a qualified driver, and none of the passengers in the vehicle were qualified drivers.
As a result, a 17 year old resident of Perth East, has been charged with speeding and for being unaccompanied by a qualified driver.
Additionally, the vehicle owner was charged with permitting a novice driver to drive.
