Huron Perth MOH not surprised by rise in those getting tested

The Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth says it’s possible we could see a rise in local COVID-19 cases over the next few weeks.

That’s because Dr. Miriam Klassen says more people are getting tested for the virus across the health unit region.

Klassen says they are watching to see if the rise in cases across the province is impacting our area but that hasn’t been the case so far.

She says as people are trying to figure out whether they should go and get tested it’s not a surprise there are long lineups at assessment centres.

There is currently one active COVID-19 case in Huron Perth.

The area has seen 127 confirmed cases with 121 recovered.

The death toll remains at 5
