Several trees near the Avon River are being removed over public safety.
Officials with the City of Stratford say six ash trees, affected by the emerald ash borer, as well as three decayed willow trees are being cut down on the north side of the river.
Other ash trees in the park system will also be taken away over the next few weeks.
Multiple varieties of native trees will be replanted in the area.
