Scrap metal and e-waste collection in St.Marys on Saturday

Here’s a chance for St.Marys residents to get rid of any scrap metal and e-waste they have sitting around home.
This Saturday, volunteer firefighters and the Kinsmen Club of St.Marys will be walking town streets picking up the waste.
The items must be at the curb by 8 a.m. and you’re asked to separate your scrap metal from your e-waste.
Proceeds from the scrap metal collection will go to support Muscular Dystrophy Canada and local sports teams, while the e-waste collection supports Cystic Fibrosis.
The following items are considered e-waste and will be picked up on April 30:
  • DVD players and VCRs
  • Cameras, cellphones, pagers, portable media players and PDAs
  • Computers, keyboards, mice, copiers, scanners, fax machines and printers
  • Radios, monitors, televisions, tuners, video projectors, record players
  • Telephones, answering machines
  • Small appliances, speakers, fax machines and microwaves

The following items are not acceptable for pick-up:

  • Household bulk items
  • Hazardous liquids or paint
  • Household garbage
  • Brush and yard clippings
  • Tires
  • Construction or demolition materials
  • Commercial or industrial materials

Rural residents can drop off their scrap metal at Robson Scrap Metal on or before Saturday April 30th, before noon.
