Over thirty families from Ukraine could soon call our area home.
The Multicultural Association of Perth-Huron is helping the families make the move from their home country which has been the site of an invasion by Russia for several months.
Seven families have arrived, and a barbecue was held on Monday marking World Refugee Day and introducing the new residents to Stratford.
Association Regional Coordinator Nicole Blaine says they hope to bring 31 families here.
“It’s really special that our community is so welcoming and so many people are willing to come out to celebrate the refugees.”
