Perth County OPP says a R.I.D.E. check led to the discovery of a loaded handgun.
Officers were carrying out the program on Perth Line 88 in North Perth around 9:30 Thursday night when they stopped a vehicle with only the driver in it.
Police say the driver blew over twice the legal limit for alcohol and they discovered a loaded handgun beside the driver’s seat, and two long guns elsewhere in the vehicle.
A 35-year-old from North Perth faces a raft of charges including Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose.
