Ash, Ray

Thomas James “Ray” Ash, age 95, passed away peacefully at Spruce Lodge, Stratford on Friday December 13, 2013.

Born in Dobbington, Ontario, son of the late Thomas and Margaret (Currie) Ash. Ray served overseas in WWII from 1939-1946 and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br., 8, Stratford. He worked at CNR in the Engineering Department for 45 years.

Beloved husband of Blanche (Shannon) Ash whom he married on April 24, 1948. Loving father of Verlyn Kittmer (Bob) and Bob Ash (Deb Brown) and family. Cherished grandfather of Jane (Jeff), Peggy (Patrick), Crystal (Adam) and Thomas. Great grandchildren Molly, Finn, Oliver and Nolan.

Dear brother of Marjorie Reynolds, Georgetown and Ralph Ash (Helen), Cambridge. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sister.

Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford on Tuesday December 17th from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Spruce Lodge or to the charity of one’s choice through the funeral home.
