Local family holding fundraiser for childhood cancer research

A Stratford family is doing what they can to help fight a devastating disease.

The Stams are putting on a fundraiser this weekend for Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma research. Organizer Kristin Stam tells us what DIPG is:

Kristin says it’s something she knows all too well:

Ava was just 7-years-old when she lost her battle with DIPG last February.

The Stams’ family friendly fundraiser is happening at the Optimist Hall in St. Paul’s on Saturday, February 13th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

There will be lots of things to do like face painting, games, and silent auctions for both adults and kids. You can find more information on Facebook.
