Regional Tourism Organization gets spot on Market Square committee

Regional Tourism Organization 4 will have a say on the future of Market Square.

RTO 4 helps coordinate the different interests of the tourism industry in Perth, Huron, and Wellington Counties as well as the Waterloo Region.

According to a report in the Beacon Herald at Monday’s meeting Stratford City Council approved a memorandum of understanding. RTO 4 will be on the design selection committee and they’ll also throw in $55,000 towards the process.

Three projects are going to be evaluated by the committee. The goal is to have Market Square redone in time for 2017 to coincide with Canada’s 150^th birthday.
