The Stratford Festival is getting some provincial funding.
Of the $1.6 million being invested the Festival will receive $250,000. That money is coming from the Ontario Cultural Attractions Fund aimed at strengthening tourism and local economies.
The Festival will use the money to help fund Shakespeare 400, a season long marking of the anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death. The project includes things like the North American premiere of Shakespeare in Love, the world premiere of Breath of Kings and other complementary programming.
