Wilhelm, Raymond

Raymond Joseph Wilhelm, age 93, of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2016, surrounded by his family at Greenwood Court. Born in North Easthope Township, son of the late Hardie and Maggie (Cook) Wilhelm. Predeceased by his wife Margaret (Almost) Wilhelm, October 24, 2002. Loving father of Christine and Wayne Ainslie, London and Murray and Cheryl Wilhelm, Stratford. Grandfather of Robert Willms, Hans and Maria, Wendy and Gerben and great granddaughter Alexis. Ray will be remembered by his brother Richard Wilhelm and wife Eileen, his sister-in-law Rachael Wilhelm and his brother-in-law Willis Beehler along with many nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents and his wife, Ray was predeceased by his brother Chester Wilhelm, Morris Wilhelm and wife Virginia, Ivan Wilhelm and wife Rusty, sisters Amanda Bankert and husband Ed and Cora Beehler. Ray retired from Standard Products in 1988 after 42 years with the company.  He was a Master Gardener with the Stratford Horticultural Society and a member of the Stratford Camera Club, which he enjoyed immensely.  The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. David Williams for his professional care, and to the entire staff at Greenwood Court for the wonderful care and compassion given to their father.   Friends and relatives may call at the W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford, on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Friday, May 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Greenwood Court through the funeral home.
