PDHU celebrating World No Tobacco Day

Today is World No Tobacco Day and the Perth District Health Unit is celebrating.

The day is recognized once a year to spread awareness of the dangers of tobacco and the work still to be done in tobacco control. Here in Ontario today also marks the tenth anniversary of the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.

Adrienne Adas with the PDHU says there are plenty of options for people looking to kick the habit:

Adas says the battle against tobacco use is still a big one:

The PDHU says the Smoke-free Ontario Strategy has led to over 400,000 fewer smokers and billions in health care cost savings.  You can find more information about the support the PDHU provides to quit smoking, including free nicotine replacement therapy, at their website.
