Passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at Nithview Community, New Hamburg. Stanley was formerly of East Zorra Township and was born there 93 years ago. He was the son of the late John E. and Barbara (Bender) Lichti.
Beloved husband of the late Erma (Ropp) Lichti who predeceased him on June 14, 2016 after 71 years of marriage. Loving father of Elaine Baxter and husband Dave Booth of Stouffville, Wayne Lichti (predeceased in 1992), father-in-law of Sharon Lichti and friend Harry Baechler of Tavistock. Stan will be missed by his grandchildren; Trevor, Fred & Dana, Sara, Jamie & Roxie, Rob & Maureen, Brad & Sally, Derek & Emily. He will be missed by his many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his many brothers and sisters.
Stan is survived by his sister Leona Bender, brothers Lincoln and Maryann Lichti, Elroy Lichti, Ken & Mildred Lichti, sisters-in-law Geneva Lichti, Emmaline Lichti and Viola Ropp. Stanley was predeceased by his brothers Elmon Lichti, Mervin Lichti, brother-in-law Mervin Bender and sister-in-law Loretta Lichti.
Stan was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg. Stan and Erma enjoyed going to the trailer at Shelter Valley in Goderich.
Family and friends will be received at Hillcrest Mennonite Church, 1056 Huron Street, New Hamburg for a time of visiting on Monday November 7, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. A service will follow at the church at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Peters-Unrau and Pastor Jan Steckley officiating. Interment to follow in the 19th Line East Zorra Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Wilmot Family Resources or Nithview Community. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, New Hamburg.
