Berniece McEwen of Route 3 Monkton, passed away surrounded by the love of her family, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday April 4, 2017 at the age of 78.
Beloved wife of Doug McEwen whom she married in 1958.  Loving mother of Brian, Shirley and Rob Verhoeve, Janice and Greg Stahlke, Dennis and Mary Lynn, Colleen McEwen.  Special grandma of Brianne and Travis, Heather and Ryan, Jason and Nicci, Janelle and Jordan, Kristen, Taylor, Erin, Quintin and Rachel, Kyla, Brooklynn and great grandma of Everly, Carson, Brady, Harper, Dylan, Mckenna and Willa. Cherished daughter of Olive and the late Edwin Hoppenrath. Dear sister of Doris and Ron McLean and Roger and Angie Hoppenrath and sister-in-law of Marie and Vern Brohart, Joyce McLaughlin, Roy and Joan McEwen and Marj McEwen.  Fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her son Bruce in infancy, her brother Eldon Hoppenrath and brother-in-law Barry McEwen.
Relatives and friends are invited to share their memories at the Brenneman Funeral Home, 141 John Street, Atwood, on Thursday April 6 from 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Berniece’s life will be held at the Elma Logan Recreation Complex, Monkton (Arena Floor) on Friday April 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Marc Fraser officiating. Interment in Elma Centre Cemetery, Atwood.
