Stratford Police have released its review on how it handles cases of sexual assault.

Police Chief Mike Bellai says the review looked at over a 100 cases between 2010 to 2014 with the objective of improving the way the department handles investigations.

At the closure of any case involving sexual assault a supervisor will conduct a complete review of the case effective immediately.

Bellai says additional training will be given to front line patrol officers, the Philadelphia Model of sexual assault review will be adopted by police.

He says partnerships with victims programs and services on a local level will be strengthened moving forward.
