West Perth residents can take part in Tree Power program

Tree Power is coming to West Perth.

Starting in London, the Upper Thames River Conservation Authority has delivered its tree power program for twelve years aiming to provide watershed residents with affordable native hardwood trees.

This is the first year the program is being offered in West Perth and residents can purchase trees for $25 and are asked to only purchase one per property so that as many people can benefit as possible.

Emily Chandler with the UTRCA says there are many advantages to having trees on your property.

“It can help with cooling your home to have a tree planted outside your home, the shade that it provides.”

Residents can purchase their trees online starting on February 23rd with pickup scheduled for April 6th in Mitchell.
