Musical theatre lovers will be taken to the village of Anatevka this November.
Perth County Players are running a local production of Fiddler on the Roof Nov. 6-15 at the James Reaney Auditorium at Stratford Intermediate School.
The show follows dairyman Teyve, his family, and the village townsfolk , where after his daughters follow their own path, Teyve must ask if he can embrace modernity or reject change.
Director Michelle Cutts said there will be two sets of lead actors.
“You never know when someone gets sick, and in community theatre you never really have an understudy so that was a concern.”
It also gives some actors the chance to play in lead roles.
Kirk Lackenbauer and Gary Horst are playing Tevye, while Kate Beath and Sally Bryant play Golde.
Cutts told MyStratfordNow they felt it was the right time to do this production.
“We haven’t really been able to do a really big show since COVID.”
More than 40 people are cast ages eight to 70.
