Stratford News Snowmobile collision in Oxford County SHARE ON: Ethan Rabidoux, staff Tuesday, Mar. 11th, 2014 There was a snowmobile crash last Friday afternoon on a nearby OFSC trail. The Oxford County OPP was called out at 12:30pm to the collision near Township road 4 and Oxford Road 3 in Blandford-Blenheim township. The 11-year-old girl had lost control and struck a fence. She had serious but non-life threatening injuried and was taken to hospital while her passenger had a minor injury. Police remind you if you’re a snowmobile enthusiast to be careful out there and always were approved equipment like a helmet. The OPP would like to remind snowmobile operators they need to treat snowmobiles with respect and use common sense when operating. Always wear an approved helmet. Be aware that the maximum speed on trails is 50 km/hr. Make sure you have a valid trail pass and insurance. Ensure snowmobile drivers meet licensing requirements. Please be careful and have a safe snowmobiling experience.
