Human trafficking investigation leads to dozens of arrest

Dozens of people have been arrested following an investigation into human trafficking in our area.

Called Project Equinox it was headed by the London Police who were supported by the Stratford, Strathroy, and Woodstock police. Project Equinox ran from early October to April 1^st.

In total 78 people were arrested and hit with 153 charges, 35 Johns were charged, and 18 women involved in the sex trade because of human trafficking were rescued. The women ranged in age from 15 to 55.

Officers also seized more than $8,000 in drugs and more than $12,000 in Canadian money.
