It is with sadness the family announce the passing of John Franklin Hoffman, better known as “Casey” on September 1, 2017 at the Clinton Hospital in his 97th year.
The son of the late Herbert & Emma (Ratz) Hoffman and son-in-law to the late Lorne & Vera (Doerr) Schenck all formerly of Milverton. Casey was born and lived in Milverton his entire life, having worked at the Honderich Furniture for 48 years, eventually taken over by Electrohome Ltd, retiring in 1984. Casey served during W.W.II in the Royal Canadian Navy- serving on ships, The Timmins, The Fennel and The David. Casey married Olive Schenck in 1950, who predeceased him in 2002. Cherished father of Margo (Barry Foster) of Kitchener, Holly Hoffman who died in infancy and Heather (Ron Gillis) of Mississauga. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren, Curtis (Trena) Gropp and Cory Gropp, all of Stratford and Ethan & Davina Gillis of Mississauga. Casey enjoyed time with his great-granddaughter, Whitney Gropp of Stratford. Survived by his sister, Ruth Roulston of Milverton and sisters-in-law Floris Stabler and Margaret Reesor, both now residing in Kitchener, and brother-in-law Glen McKenzie in B.C. Predeceased by sister-in-law Mary McKenzie and brothers-in-law, Don Reesor, George Roulston and Don Stabler. Remembered by 7 nieces and nephews.
Casey was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 565, Milverton and the Army Navy and Airforce Veterans Club of Stratford.

Family and Friends are invited to a time of visitation at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 7 Spencer Street, Milverton, on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. the funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. followed by Interment in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Royal Canadian Legion branch 565 or a charity of ones choice.
