The OPP is still engaged in a manhunt for a suspect who stole a police vehicle, crashed it and fled on foot in Listowel.
Wingham police originally pulled over the suspect who was behind the wheel of a stolen vehicle early yesterday morning, when he assaulted the officer and took his patrol car.
The suspect took off heading east on foot down Binning Street East and is described as having short dark hair, likely in his mid-30s along with wearing a black and red shirt.
A helicopter and the canine unit have been taking part in the search.
The OPP is thanking the public for feedback as it’s helped to focus the search.
