The City of Stratford is taking steps to modernize how we park across it.
Council approved a $100,000 project to introduce what it calls a smart parking program.
The first phase will use a puck-like device, put into the pavement which will gather data on when vehicles are parked above it.
The data will be used by the city to gain an overall better understanding of parking in Stratford, along with being made completely available to the public.
The final goal of the effort is to create a mobile app which will feed anyone in the city information on where exactly parking is available.
