Stratford Police Warn About Vehicle Thefts

Stratford Police are warning drivers not to leave their vehicles running following to thefts in two days.

Acting Deputy Chief of Police Sam Theocharis says on Monday morning a vehicle was left running on Downie Street when a suspect entered it and drove away.

Later, the van was spotted in Hensall where police were able to catch up with the suspect.

The driver of the stolen van was arrested after he mistakenly flagged down an undercover OPP officer.

The second incident also happened on Downie on Tuesday night, where a 2017 red Nissan pick-up was stolen which police have not found.
