Swan Parade and Swan-y Party Is A Go

The Swan Parade is a go.

Stratford’s Community Services says the parade will go ahead this afternoon as 2:00.

The cold weather we had last week had caused ice to form on the Avon River, posing a problem for the swans to be released from their winter home.  But, there is open water today.

Today’s festivities will begin at 10:00am with the Swan Craft Fair inside the Festival Theatre Lobby.

At 1:00 pm, special guest, Harold Hill (actor Daren A. Herbert), the lead character in the Stratford Festival’s 2018 production of The Music Man, leads the families on a Musical March along Lakeside Drive to meet up with the Swan-y Street Party.

There will be swan art, food trucks and street performers entertaining from 12 noon – 3:00 pm.

At 1:45pm the Stratford Police Pipes and Drums begin playing and the swans will follow at 2:00 pm.

Parking is available in the Stratford Festival parking lot and east along Lakeside Drive.

Accessible parking will be available in the Tom Patterson lot by entering at Water Street and Morenz Drive where a volunteer will direct you.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free family event. Share your stories and photos using #swanparade.
