Stratford keeping Toronto in its thoughts after Monday’s events

Stratford needs to keep Toronto in its thoughts.

That from Stratford Deputy Mayor Martin Ritsma who lead Monday nights city council meeting where a moment of silence was held to honor the ten people killed and fifteen injured after a van drove onto a curb in Toronto’s north end Monday afternoon.

Police in that city believe the incident was an intentional attack and a 25-year-old Richmond Hill man has been arrested.

Ritsma says he and council are there for their counterparts in Ontario’s capital.

“As a person in administration here in our city we need to reach out their administration and to their citizens saying we’re thinking about you and our thoughts are certainly with you and your families as you go through this.”

Ritsma says it’s too early to say if the city will lower its flags to honor those affected like they did after the Humboldt Broncos tragic bus crash a few weeks ago.
