Goderich man arrested during attempted robbery in seaforth

A 30-year-old Goderich man faces charges after police say he was arrested during an attempted robbery in Seaforth.

Police say it happened just after noon Monday when the man brandished a knife and demanded medication from the pharmacist at Keating’s Pharmacy on Main Street South.

They say an officer was near the store when a 9-1-1 call about the crime came in, they say the officer found and arrested the man without incident.

Their investigation has also revealed the knife was stolen from the nearby Dollar Haven minutes before the robbery, according to police.

The man faces charges including Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Robbery with a Weapon and he will appear in court in Goderich on Wednesday.
