With sunny skies in the forecast for the weekend, many of us might be thinking about having a backyard campfire.
Those who live in St. Mary’s are being reminded that an Open Air Burn Permit is now required for all open air burning in the town, including campfires and outdoor fireplaces.
The permit costs $25.00 and can be paid for by cash or cheque and picked up at the St. Mary’s Fire Department during regular business hours.
Permits became mandatory as part of the new Open Air Burn By-Law which was passed by St. Mary’s Council in 2017.
