Stratford Police find two men wanted in separate incidents

Two men wanted by Stratford Police are now in custody after separate incidents.

The first happened just after 1 p.m. on Saturday when police say they stopped a vehicle in the Avondale Avenue and Manning Avenue area in Stratford.

They say a passenger in the vehicle was recognized as a 22-year-old man from Stratford who had five outstanding warrants against him all relating to failing to attend court or breaching his conditions.

He was brought to Stratford Police Headquarters where he was held for a bail hearing.

The second happened just after 3 p.m. on Saturday when police say they were conducting patrols on Douglas Street and they recognized a man on a bicycle who was wanted after a theft from a motor vehicle on Friday.

The 33-year-old man was stopped and police say he was arrested and charged with Theft Under $5-thousand and Breach of Probation.

He has a court appearance scheduled for February 11th.
