Stratford remembering Betty McMillan, the city’s first female mayor

A pioneer in politics in Stratford is being remembered.
Betty McMillan, the first female Mayor in the history of the City of Stratford, passed away peacefully on Saturday at the age of 95.
McMillan became Mayor of the city in the 1970s after previously serving a number of terms as a councilor.
Mayor Dan Mathieson tweeted out Monday night that Betty was a “kind, thoughtful and great leader.”
Flags on city buildings will be lowered this week to honor McMillan’s life.
