Two people recovering from minor injuries after roll-over collision in Stratford

Two people are recovering from minor injuries after a roll-over collision in Stratford.

Just before 7 o’clock Thursday morning, emergency services were called out to a two-vehicle collision on Downie Street at Simcoe Street, with one of the vehicles having rolled over.

Police say a black Hyundai Tuscon was found on its roof with the female driver trapped inside, they say she was able to be safely removed from the vehicle and was taken to the Stratford General Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the second vehicle, a red Ford, also suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

Police say their investigation has determined that the driver of the red Ford had attempted to make a right turn from Simcoe Street onto Downie Street when the vehicle was struck by the black Hyundai.

After colliding with the Ford, the Hyundai lost control and rolled over onto its roof.

The driver of the red Ford has been charged with making an unsafe right turn.

Police say the fact that both people were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision helped keep the injuries from being more severe.
