The 2019 season is off to a great start at the Clinton Raceway.
While there was a bit of rain and grey clouds in the sky at times, an otherwise sunny Sunday featuring nine live harness races brought out a large crowd to kick things off.
Officials say that the nine-race card handle added up to over $42,000 which they say made it one of the best opening days in the last few years.
Marketing Manager for the Clinton Raceway, Jessica Carnochan, says they plan on keeping the momentum going.
“Sometimes it can be a little bit intimidating as well to come and try something new but I like to think that we’re a fairly easy place to get along with and we have lots of information to help people who are thinking about coming out.”
The second Sunday of the season kicks off at 1:30 p.m. this coming weekend.
