Major drug bust made in the Stratford area

A major dent has been put in the illegal drug market locally.
Last Wednesday, members of the Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit, along with assistance from the OPP Grey-Bruce Community Street Crime Unit, and Perth County OPP, seized a large quantity of meth from a vehicle in the Township of Minto in Wellington County.
Police say cash and the vehicle the suspects were in were also seized.
A 33-year-old North Perth man was arrested and charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking drugs.
The next day, the OPP Huron-Perth Community Street Crime Unit used search warrants at addresses on Albert Avenue in North Perth, and on Minto Road in Minto Township.
Police say quantities of meth and other drugs, along with other property and drug trafficking paraphernalia were seized.
The estimated value of the seized controlled substances is $218 000, while the estimated value of the seized offence related property is $49 000.
