Killby, Sherry

Sherry Ann (Sherr-Bear) Killby, age 78, of Stratford, passed away peacefully at Wildwood Care Centre, St. Marys on October 4, 2019. Born in Chatham, September 22, 1941, daughter of the late Albert and Ann (Bruhlman) DeVriese.

Sherry taught in the Catholic District School Board in Bothwell, Glencoe, Chatham, Stratford, Kinkora and St. Marys for 35 years until her retirement. After retiring from teaching she took up a passion for painting and spending time at the cottage in Sauble Beach. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Stratford.

Beloved wife of the late William Killby who predeceased her December 30, 2000. Loving mother of Kim Lauze, Kevin Killby, Kelly Killby (Russell). Grandmother of Amy Girard (Dennis), Tara Lauze (Josh), Colton Killby. She will be missed by her great granddaughter and special caregiver Bria McBurney. Sister of Wendy Milord (Woodie), Penny Liddy (Wayne), Mike Killby (Mary Anne), Virginia Killby (Tim). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families.

Predeceased by brother Richard DeVriese.

Friends and relatives will be received at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Sunday, October 6, from 6-9 p.m. and on Monday, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 50 Well Street, Stratford from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Cremation will follow with interment at St. Marys Cemetery, South Bruce Peninsula.
