Tornado confirmed in Grand Bend

It was indeed a tornado that tore through Grand Bend Sunday night.

Environment Canada confirms it’s the eighth tornado of the season in the province.

The twister uprooted trees and damaged hydro poles as it reached speeds of up to 175 kilometres an hour.

Only one injury was reported.

The OPP is asking people to stay away from Grand Bend while the cleanup continues.

There were also reports of a funnel cloud in Millbank Sunday night but Environment Canada has not yet confirmed this report.
