Stratford Police searching for stolen “Black Lives Matter” sign

Stratford Police are searching for a “Black Lives Matter” sign they say was stolen from a home in the city.

Police say they got a report on Monday morning that the sign had been stolen from a front porch on Queen Street at some point throughout the previous night.

The sign was last seen at 11:00 o’clock Sunday night and was observed missing at 8:00 o’clock Monday morning.

Throughout the day on Sunday, SPS says the owner of the sign observed a suspicious vehicle, described as a black Audi sedan with dark tinted windows and new Ontario license plates attached that were blue in colour, drive by his house several times.

At one point the driver of the Audi exited the vehicle and appeared to take a photo of the sign while shaking his head in disapproval.

It is unknown if this individual is involved with the theft of the sign; however, police are asking anyone with information regarding the theft to please contact them or Crime Stoppers.
