Huron Perth MOH urging people to be mindful of their choices this Thanksgiving long weekend

The Medical Officer of Health for Huron Perth says we need to be mindful of our choices this Thanksgiving long weekend.

Dr. Miriam Klassen told a media conference Thursday afternoon that the best way to stay safe is to stay local and not travel outside of our region for the holiday.

She says we should stay to household contacts only but if you have to travel outside the area she says to be extra careful in maintaining public health recommendations against COVID-19.

There are currently five active COVID-19 cases in the region with a new case in Stratford being reported.

Dr.Klassen says the new case is in a person who traveled outside of the area.

There have been 136 cases in Huron Perth since the start of the pandemic with 126 now recovered.

The death toll from the virus remains at 5.
