Seventeenth COVID-19 related death in Huron Perth

Another person has died after testing positive for COVID-19 in Huron Perth.
Huron Perth Public Health says in an update released Saturday morning that they learned of the death on Friday.
They say the community member tested positive for the virus and had been hospitalized.
HPPH doesn’t say where in the region the person was from and it marks the 17th COVID-19 related death in Huron Perth.
There are 318 confirmed COVID-19 cases in the region, 11 more than on Friday, with 44 active cases.
Four confirmed cases are currently in hospital, three in community members and one in a resident from Cedarcroft Place Retirement Residence.
An outbreak has been declared at Knollcrest Lodge in Milverton after a symptomatic staff person tested positive with outbreak measures in place and testing continuing.
An outbreak has also been declared at Spruce Lodge in Stratford after an asymptomatic staff person tested positive during routine surveillance testing.
Outbreak measures are now in place and testing continues.
