Violet (Vi) Hogg, formerly of Elmira and Peterborough, passed away peacefully with her family by her side, at her residence, Ritz  Lutheran Villa, Mitchell on ÂÂÂSeptember 9, 2014.                    Vi was born in Toronto on July 27, 1920. She was the daughter of the late Joseph & Lily Withers. Vi is survived by her children, Barb Leis (Lyle) of Stratford, Bob Hogg (Marianne) of Collingwood, Michael Hoag (Lesley) of Ennismore and Doreen Bark (Chad) of Bobcageon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jodi Rison (Greg), Craig Leis (Kim), Dianna Hogg, Colin Hoag (Heather), Kaitlyn Andrews (Josh), Andrew & Kevin Bark; great grandchildren, Chloe, Quinn and Nathan Rison and by her sister, Josie Amos of Orillia. She was predeceased by her sister, Vicki Werner of Peterborough and her daughter-in-law, Carol Meyette-Hoag of Cavan. While in Peterborough Vi was a member and an Elder of Trinity United Church. We would like to thank Dr. Powell, the staff at the Villa and Carol Murphy for their care and compassion for Mom and her family. Vi will be fondly remembered for her passion for sewing and her sense of humour. There will be no visitation. A private family service will be held at James A. Rutherford Funeral Home on September 12, 2014. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, Sick Kids Foundation Cancer Research Program, Toronto through James A.
