Happening Now: Snow Squall Warning in effect for Perth County

Environment Canada has issued a Snow Squall Warning for Perth County.

The weather agency says long-lived snow squalls are expected.

Under the snow squall bands, visibilities will be significantly reduced due to the heavy snow combined with blowing snow, and snow will rapidly accumulate.

Snow squalls will intermittently affect the area until Saturday.

Snowfall amounts of 10 to 15 cm are expected on Friday.

Even heavier snowfall amounts in the 15 to 25 cm range are possible Friday night.

Snowfall amounts on Saturday may reach 15 cm.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Road closures are likely.
