Five new cases of COVID-19 in Huron Perth, one more death

There are five new cases of COVID-19 in Huron Perth.  The number of active cases has dipped to 21, which is two less than reported on Saturday.

Three of the new cases are in Stratford, one is in Perth East, with the other in Huron County.

The health unit is reporting one new death of a resident of Seaforth Manor bringing the number of people who have died because of COVID-19 in the region to 50. Huron Perth Public Health says while the person had recovered from COVID-19 “it was a contributing cause of death.” The outbreak at the Seaforth Manor Nursing Home was declared over on February 28th.

There has been a total of 1,335 cases of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic with 1,264 recovered.
