Stratford Mayor says city stands with London in wake of attack

Stratford Mayor Dan Mathieson says the tragic events in London have raised our awareness that hate crime is in our communities.

He was reacting to the incident in London that police say involved a white male striking a Muslim family with a pickup truck while they were out walking.

Four of the family members have died while a fifth, a 9-year-old boy, is in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mathieson says he’s offering our sympathies to the families and friends of the victims, as well as the greater community of London.

He says we stand with them in grief and offer our heartfelt condolences.

Police say it was a targeted attack.
